Welcome to Ippon Ryu Academy

Serving the Greater Cincinnati Metro Area, Ippon Ryu Academy is led by Sensei Virgil Lackey III.  We offer Martial Arts education to children and adults of all ages and backgrounds, specializing in Judo, Jiu Jitsu, and Striking.

With over 30 years of Martial Arts experience, Sensei shares his extensive knowledge with students.  He's developed a well-rounded, unique curriculum and fighting experience.  His impressive lineage includes:

- Judo: Awarded Black Belt by Mike Jones & Virgil Lackey Jr.

- Jiu Jitsu:  studied under Jeff Robison, a 3rd degree black belt under Carlos Machado

- Striking:  Muay Thai trained by Dahie Halie; Boxing trained by Brian Kinemore
